12th International Cycle History

Dear Bicycle Historians:
You are cordially invited to attend the 12th International Cycle History
Conference in Italy. The Conference will be held in a very nice location,
close to the famous town of Sanremo, in the Ligurian area. Different sponsors
will provide financial support for conference facilities and at this time
we expect that there will be no hotel and meals costs for those who present
papers. Spouses of people who present papers and attendees will get a
reduced hotel rate. There will be no subsidy for travel expenses.
There will be a US Dollars 150.00 fee for every attendee (including paper
presenters) and US Dollars 75 for spouses. This covers one copy of the
Proceedings and the cost of the mailings. The cost of the Proceedings
is included in the attendance fee. Do not send any money until you get
the second mailing.
The following program is tentatively planned. More details will follow
in later mailings.
Tuesday, September 25, 2001
After-noon / evening: arrive at Nice Cote d'Azur Airport or Sanremo train
station. Bus to the Hotel.
Welcome, dinner, and overnight.
Wednesday, September 26, 2001
Visit the Bicycle Museum which is going to be set Begin the conference
in the Conference room of the Museum.
Dinner and overnight.
Thursday, September 27, 2001
Continuation of the conference. Depending on the number of papers, the
presentations may be in parallel strands.

Friday, September 28, 2001
Continuation of the conference. After the last presentation, there will
be a meeting to finalize the 13th cycle history conference in 2001.
After-noon free. We are organizing a possible excursion to Ventimille
(Hambury Gardens, Dolceacqua, Apricale) or to Imperia (Olive Museum, Oneglia,
Parrasio).
Farewell dinner and overnight.

Departure in the morning: Bus to Nice Cote D'Azur Airport or Sanremo train
station.
It is essential to get an early estimate of attendees and or papers
so that I can provide firm costs in the next mailing. The next mailing
will be sent to those that respond to this mailing. If you wish to present
a paper, please send an abstract (about 250 words) in English as soon
as possible. If more papers are proposed that can be presented or printed
in the Proceedings, a review committee will make the selection.
