Something Different
to Entertain You!

"After my first tour at Pedaling History, all my groups ask for a stop at this marvelous destination!"

"I've taken three groups to visit Pedaling History and it's just more fun every time. It's tough getting them back on the bus!"

"Pedaling History is a real nostalgic trip through time. My groups ask to go back. The history and content of this place is fantastic!"

The Pedaling History Bicycle Museum is Western New York's newest unique and surprising treat. It is the world's largest museum devoted solely to the impact of the bicycle on our lives. A guided tour (available only to group tours) provides the most meaningful way to see the museum and allows the visitor to realize the much overlooked but colorful, dramatic, romantic, and important part the bicycle played in weaning man from the horse and buggy and starting our modern transportation systems. The bicycle also dramatically changed America's social life in the "Gay Nineties".

Your group arrives from the bus to the friendly, brilliant music of a European Monkey Grinder Organ and is quickly oriented for the guided tour to begin. The museum's owners, Carl & Clary Burgwardt, personally conduct most group tours. The Burgwardts are experienced travelers who freely relate with their guests' interests, anticipate questions, and provide a fascinating and colorful dialogue with their groups.

Often group leaders arrange Pedaling History as a "mystery stop". We also recognize that many people approach the idea of visiting a bicycle museum with apprehension but the amazing thing is that most of these same people have each had some experience with a bicycle at some time or other in their lifetimes. This is where suddenly the history presented in the museum and the nostalgia of a visitor's happy times on or with a bicycle merge together in a magical way, generating a new appreciation of the dimensions of bicycle history. We have yet to have a less than enthusiastic and fascinated visitor leaving the museum after a tour.

Frequently, even a visitor who has little interest in a bicycle but who appreciates antiques and art can usually have a heyday viewing the thousands of items of bicycle memorabilia, ephemera, art and the dioramas exhibited in the extensive museum facility's 7000 sq. ft.

It is recommended that you plan a minimum of 1-1/2 hours for a group tour visit. You may also wish to take advantage of our food catering services to avoid another stop. We will be happy to quote for your special needs or any other special services you might wish for while in our area.

Most of our group tours are sent on their way singing "Bicycle Built for Two" as they have never sung it before. Try us-- you'll like the way we entertain your group ! !

We work with YOUR transportation company! Ask them to call us.
